About Me
Hello, my name is Kelly Hernley. I am a senior environmental science major at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. I am a first-generation college student set to graduate in December 2023. Growing up on a farm, I have always had a love of nature and the environment, but I really discovered my passion for environmental science during high school after taking an AP environmental science class. My interests lie in sustainability, environmental health, and food production/agriculture.
On campus, I am a writer for the student newspaper, The Weekly Ringer. When I’m not studying or writing, I enjoy cooking, going thrifting, and reading from my endless stack of books.
I also run a small business selling clothes and household items on Poshmark, an online platform. I enjoy sourcing clothing to sell and helping to promote a circular economy by selling secondhand items.
After graduation, I am considering attending graduate school for sustainability or environmental health.
